The Year of the Goat
by Alexander Dyakin, Ava Zerbo, Bingkun Duan and Nicholas Bates

On February 25th Edgewood had a giant Lunar New Year celebration! It is the Year of the Goat.

First, we had a big parade at 9:15am. It included a dragon, a lion, all the zodiac animals, and LOTS of first graders making LOTS of noise. Watch the video below of the parade.

The Parade through the Halls

After that, classes came to the New Meeting Room to have a festival. They ate Chinese dumpling, watched presentations, played games, danced as dragons, and jumped on bubble wrap to make lots of noise like firecrackers.

We interviewed all of the organizers who started this festival. Find out what they said in the video below.

An Interview with the Organizers

Check out the games and activities they have below. We caught several kids having a great time. If you win, you get candy!

What a great celebration! Thanks to all the parents who organized this great day for Edgewood! Alex, Ava, David, and Nick, you did an incredible job pulling together an information-filled story all by yourselves with very little notice! Congratulations!
