March Animal Madness Finals
by Avika Dang and Lauren Liu

This year's fourth grade March Animal Madness tournament included the Arctic, Patagonia and African regions. An epic battle of the hemispheres! Students needed to research their animals with their partner(s), make awesome raps, and create eye-catching posters for their animals. Animals fought for a place in the next round. The two finalists this year were the Arctic Hare and Gentoo Penguin They faced off in an epic race. In the end, the Gentoo Penguin won against the Arctic Hare.
The final battle was an awesome experience for both animals. We represented the Arctic Hare, and even though we lost it was still a great match and an awesome experience to have made it into the finals. There was a long process though, to get there. We had to research the Arctic Hare in Library and then we worked to make a catchy rap about the Arctic Hare in Music and Tech. In Art we made flashy posters to show the Arctic Hare's best side. In Spanish we learned about Patagonia. In Music we made raps for the arctic. The best part was that the Edgewood Staff got to announce the winners of each round! It was an awesome learning experience.
