Should we have uniforms? Or should we not? Well, it’s up for DEBATE! In this course, kids learn to use their knowledge to debate. Students debate in front of the whole class, explaining how they feel. Doesn’t this sound fun?
We interviewed A.J. Hart about debating. He explained that the group had a warm up to do first. The warm up was to discuss if we should have uniforms or not. A.J. seems to really enjoy the class. As we observed the course, we noticed that the classroom was set up like a real courtroom. We also noticed that the class even had a podium in their room which they stand behind to debate.
Mr. Reilly, who is a third grade teacher, runs this course. Mr. Reilly said that he really thinks debating is a good skill to know. He “loves it!” Mr. Reilly told us that you do not need any materials in order to be able to debate well. He said, “You just need your brain!” Mr. Reilly seems to love this course.
We think you guys will love this course. You guys should really try it out. I think I will do it, too.
